• The painting depicts St. Seraphim of Sarov. The future monk and miracle worker came from a merchant family and his name was Prokhor Moshnin. From childhood, miracles happened to him, with which, according to legend, his life is full. After falling from a high bell tower, he miraculously remained unharmed. And a few years later he was healed of a serious illness. Having become a monk, he went into solitary asceticism. Outside the monastery walls he built a hermitage, planted a vegetable garden and an apiary. As a hermit, birds and wild animals flew to him. On some icons he is depicted with a bear. For 15 years he led a reclusive life and then returned to the monastery, where he began serving as an elder and began to receive people.
• The elder’s advice is simple and full of love for people and sympathy. He was endowed with the gift of miracles and became a spiritual mentor for thousands of people. Close to nature, simple and harmonious. He did not judge anyone and allowed everything to be.
• He is a revered saint. People turn to him with requests for healing, choosing the right path, and success in business and in life. And he helps everyone whose requests and prayers are sincere.
