• The name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker has become famous in all corners of the earth, in many countries and peoples.
• In Christianity he is revered as a miracle worker, in the East he is the patron saint of travelers, prisoners and orphans, in the West he is the patron saint of almost all levels of society, but mainly of children.
• Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of seafarers, to whom sailors often turn.
• Even during his lifetime, Saint Nicholas became famous as a pacifier of warring parties, a defender of the innocently condemned, and a deliverer from sudden death.
• Saint Nicholas gave rise to the character Santa Claus, and in Russia the New Year is impossible without Father Frost, whose prototype is Russia's favorite saint.
• We depicted St. Nicholas in the image of a handsome, stately old man. By touching the ring finger to the thumb he performs the earth mudra (Prithvi Mudra). His clothes have a pattern of anchors on them. After all, he is the patron saint of sailors.
